01 — THE INVENTION BEHIND THE MITIGATOR

From concept to international application.

Before establishing Evolution Drill Bits, the founder conceived and developed the original technology that became the Ulterra Mitigator, a commercial downhole tool positioned to address HFTO, stick/slip and bit-impact damage.

That earlier innovation progressed from concept into the international drilling market, establishing a foundation of practical engineering and commercialisation experience.

That experience demonstrated what is required to move an engineering idea beyond the workshop: identify a costly field problem, design a practical response, protect the intellectual property and communicate its value to the organisations capable of taking it to scale.

Evolution Drill Bits builds on that commercialisation experience with a new integrated drill-bit invention developed to address destructive drilling vibration at the cutting face. The design applies a distinct source-control approach, with the objective of reducing cutter-impact damage, extending bit life and improving whole-of-system drilling performance.

The focus is to integrate vibration management directly into the drill bit, creating a technology with a clear operational purpose, credible technical evidence and the potential to be manufactured, licensed or acquired for global deployment.
